Today I made popsicles. Though it was a pretty messy experience they ended up turning out really good and I'm going to be making these many more times. I learned that you don't need a bunch of sugar or expensive ingredients to make a simple treat like this. This will likely end up saving me a lot of money as I now know I don't need to go to the store and spend a bunch of money on popsicles when I can make some in less than an hour for close to nothing.

Today I made my first attempt at the Reduced-Fat chocolate chip cookies... it didn't go well. I think my measurements were completely off when I substituted the butter for applesauce, the dough looked like soup! It was not pretty. I found out that I had a lot of these ingredients lying around my house, and because my family isn't to into cooking, they were mine for the taking! Even though the cookies didn't turn out the way I expected, it was a good learning experience.

Today I made avocado mousse. Though I personally have never really liked the taste of it, when I gave it to my family to try they all really liked it and didn't even realize that it had avocado in it. When I told them they were surprised and happy because that meant that they weren't being super unhealthy.

Today was my second attempt at the cookies, and I must say, they turned out great! I finally did some research and realized I was right, my measurements were dead wrong! I was just replacing the butter with the applesauce when I needed to half the amount, but when I made the correction they turned out fantastic! I will definitely be making these again. I learned that recipes don't always turn out right on the first try, but if you keep trying, eventually things will work out.

Today I created an apple and peanut butter roll up. At first I didn't really know what I was doing, but making something up thats your own turned out to be a lot of fun, and can be surprisingly good. I was super pleased with how it turned out and though it sounds like more of a snack, I would definitely eat it as a dessert.

Today I put together strawberries and whipped cream for a sweet snack. I personally think that the simpler the sweet, the more you can enjoy it, and I most certainly enjoyed this. Not only was it tasty, but it also wasn't expensive and pretty heathy.

Today I made the strawberry lemonade smoothie and a light yogurt parfait. Both recipes were super simple to make and took me less than 10 minutes to make, aside from the freezing time of the smoothie. I would say the parfait is more of a breakfast food than a snack, but it was delicious either way.

Today I made pineapple frozen yogurt, which ended up being my favorite of everything I made and I will most definitely be making it again.I loved the fact that it tasted a lot like dole whip, which I love, and how it still had a bit of texture from the pineapple. I would recommend this recipe to anyone who likes pineapple, because once again I love it so much.

Today I tried making Chocolate-Peanut Butter-Banana Ice Cream. This recipe was tricky to get right, but once I did, it was delicious! I took a while for me to get just the right ratio of peanut butter to banana ratio, because i'm pretty picky when it comes to ice cream. I learned that certain recipes are really just guidelines, and each person needs to cook based on their own likes and dislikes. I would recommend this recipe to any picky eater who likes thing their way.

Today I made chocolate banana kebabs and cinnamon sugar bananas, both which ended up tasting pretty good. I personally thought the cinnamon sugar bananas were way to sugary, but my family enjoyed them a lot so overall they were a success, as where the kebabs. I only made the kebabs because they were simply, but they ended up tasting better than I thought they would.

Today I made protein brownies, which I thought sounded really good and healthy, but ended up just being healthy.  I was really disappointed with how they turned out, but it might just be my weird taste buds.

Today I made the first test batch of our homemade "magic shell" and it actually worked! It was a huge hit with my family, who used the entire batch that night making sundaes. I love this recipe and would recommend everyone, especially ice cream fanatics like me. The only thing about this recipe that I didn't like was how long it took to melt the chocolate... i'm impatient. Other than that, this recipe is great!
