Reduced-Fat Chocolate Chip cookies

This recipe may seem to good to be true but trust us, it's real. The secret... Applesauce! In this recipe, the applesauce acted as a substitute for the butter. This simple switch drastically reduced the amount of fat in these cookies and made them even more fun to enjoy!

The Recipe

2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp. of baking sods
1 tsp. of salt
1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce
3/4 cup of granulated sugar
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp. of vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups of chocolate chips



How To Make

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees

2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and set aside



3. Beat together the sugar, vanilla, and applesauce



4. Mix in eggs

5. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients



6. Stir in chocolate chips



7. Allow the dough to firm up in the fridge for 20 mins.

8. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough onto a baking sheet and cook for 10 mins.

9. Allow the cookies to cool for 10 mins. before you enjoy!



*You can use your own favorite cookie recipe, just substitute the butter for half the amount of applesauce
